Corn/milk hybred

Tangoowner

New member
Hi Everyone,

Im definitely new here, I currently have a normal ball python thats under a year and happily living and eating. I recently adopted a cross breed tangerine milk snake and snow corn snake, named tango (was told hes about a year old, a little under 2 feet long). While he can be a little flighty hes pretty good nature, once picked up pretty much behaves himself. Likes to move around but i hear thats pretty normal for both the species of his parents.

My question is, the breeder said he was feeding tango two pinkies, once a week, he happy and eagerly takes these pinkies, ive lately been giving him 3, which again he regularly takes, i bet he would even take more. I would go up to fuzzies but i personally don't think hes thick enough yet. Im just worried im underfeeding him but I dont want to risk over feeding him. Since hes a crossbreed Im not sure if he may have some weird appetite. lol Im gonna talk to the breeder next week but Id love some suggestions.

Ill post a pic of him if anyone is interested.

Underfeeding will always be preferable to overfeeding, as the snake is likely to regurge. An instance of regurgitation can lead to a slippery slope of more of the same, which can easily be fatal to a snake unless proper attention is given to the problem.

That said, do a forum search for the Munson Plan and you should be able to find a guide a lot of owners have used to gauge how much your snake should be eating. I honestly don't imagine that a hybrid would be much different from a regular corn as far as feeding goes.

And always remember that the snake's instinct tells it to eat what its given, even if its eating way more than it should be. Don't confuse that with hunger.
