I need some advice, please...

I have had my albino and my snow in the same tank together now since aboput march-ish... why isnt she pregnant yet???? My 0.1 snow looks pregnant... and her belly is soft... my other female's belly is still normal... whats going on????? I really really want her to have babies!!
oh, also, shes turned down a few meals reciently ??? does that matter??? ... actually, both girls did....

Has the male been proven with successful breeding to a different female? If not, it's possible that he's shooting blanks.

Otherwise, how old is your Amel (albino) and has she laid for you before? Sometimes they physically mature at different rates and she may not be ovulating yet.

Some females never lay - I currently have two (5 and 7 years old, if I remember correctly) who have been mated every year since they turned three and have never laid eggs.

Some females just aren't fertile - it's one of the variables of breeding dicatated by Mr Murphy.

In fact there is a specific sub-section to Murphy's Law of Corn Snake Breeding which states "The female that never lays fertile eggs, will be the prize of your collection, with the best colour and the nicest markings"!

Hope this isn't the case for you.

thank you for your reply.... so far she is my only other breeding adult.... she is perfect weight and size to breed, but I just got her a few months ago and I have not yet bred her.... this is my first attempt...

I hope that I dont have the "murphy's law" with her...

My male has never given me problems with breeding before,.. always produces beautiful snows... ..... ?????

Well, at least with the male an established breeder, you're half way there. That's good news.

I wonder if she ovulated earlier than March and the breeding was just a bit too late? I don't know about the mechanics of ovulation - I'm guessing they must ovulate once or twice a year (the double-clutchers), so there may still be a chance for her.

As she's new to you, are you sure of her age? Too young or too old might be a factor, even though she's correct size and weight.

I do hate it when they do this to us. My two "problem" females have me tearing my hair out every year.
