i was wondering if it is alright to put a male and a female together they are both over a year old and they look fine together its just that i have heard rumours of the snakes eating eachother :shrugs: thank you
 
P.S what does it mean when the male lifts his tail up when he is near the female is that him tryin to get it on??
 
This topic comes up constantly. Do a forum search for "cohabitation"

Short answer, no do not put them together, especially opposite sexes at only 1 year. That's too young for breeding and the female could die from it.
 
When you have babies they can be put together for a few months. I have never had any problem putting 3-6 month olds together. But i think 1 year is too old to have together, they may fight and are too young to breed.

As the others have said, they definately should not be together. Chances are that they will try to breed and your female could die. She's too small at her age to successfully lay eggs.

When my yearling male lifts his tail and keeps it straight, I know to get the h*ll out of the way or I'll get pooped on! :grin01:
