so my corn snake asked me to put up this personal ad.

looking for nookie

7/male/cage

I'm a beautiful amel in the prime of my life looking for a hot chica to make babies with. I'm working hard to lose weight and look uber sexy so no dinner dates. In fact I haven't eaten at all for the last 1 month and 1 week! Send me a pic and i'll send one back.

Smolderingly yours,
Ramón

PS I love to cuddle

so there is the ad..

it's alright with me if someone want's their female corn pregnant, but i'm really a bit concerned about the lack of eating. Pretty sure you can blame me for the room getting colder in the winter. cheap apartment not enough insulation.

Anyone know how long i should expect this hunger strike to last?

He has been so active in his cage, I keep wasting mice because i think he is hungry.

any thoughts?

Oh bless! They can have a one-track mind at this time of year!

The hunger strikes last for anything from a couple of weeks, to 2-3 months. I'd just offer one mouse every 2 weeks until he starts eating again.

Once you get into the swing of his personal habit, you can tailor the feeding regime for next year. Until then, it's just a matter of waiting it out.

Just think of all that fantastic muscle-building exercise he's getting, cruisin' for the laydeez! He'll be really buff by the time he remembers about food again!

so since i posted this thread.. i have managed to feed him two weanling mice. live feeding because he is still refusing F/T he was never a picky eater growing up.. untill this little midlife chrisis
