How do I get my normal corn snake to eat, it has been 34 days no food and I tried every thing (washing, slitting brain, dark container over night with f/t pinkey, live fuzzy mouse) she is starting to get thin, I am trying to turn down the temps in her cage but no luck the cool end is 80 degrees F (it doesn't help that my bed room is freakin hot). Can I put her in my basement and really turn down the temps to slow down her metabolism, or is that a not so good idea?
Cobran is in a 20 gal tank, uses shreded aspen, has three hides(one on each side and one in the middle), and a nice ceramic water bowl. His/Her UTH is registered at 85 degrees F but his/her cool end is also around 80 degrees F. I had him/her in the basement a few days a go and her cool end was at 70-75 degrees F. He/She is in my room for a few days b/c the basement flooded.
I bought her at a reptile expo on July 5th and on July 8th he/she ate a pinkey mouse very fast. 7 days later I offered her another mouse, but nothing. I keep trying every 7 days but she will touch the mice. I am worried he/she may die. Is there any thing I can do besides move back into the basement when I move all the other reptiles back down into the basement.
Should I cool down the cage, and try to put her into a mini hibernation, what can I do to get him/her to eat.
Cobra is very active, about three feet long, and as round as a normal black permanent sharpie marker. Cobra weighs a bit under 1/4 pound, or 100 grams
