Corn Snake Swimming

DTkach

Snake Owner
I was wondering,do corn snakes swim? I would love to put mine (when shes older) into a bathtub with a little water and watch her swim.I don't know if this is OK to do some I wanted to ask first.By the way I'm a new member :wavey: .

They probably can but it doesn't mean they like too, so if you really want to watch something swim get a fish instead.

I just wanted to know if its OK to try and see if they like it.I don't want her getting sick or something. And I just want to see if she likes it. If she dosen't then OK if she does then OK.

The snake probably won't like it and you won't be able to tell your stressing it out .
So my suggestion is not to do it.

What I'd recommend instead is to get a water dish big enough for her to get inside. That way, if she wants to get into the water, she can and if she doesn't she won't.

I bathed my snakes during an outbreak of mites. They could swim all right, but Connor especially hated it. I wouldn't force the snake to swim just for the sake of it.

I wouldn't force I just want to see if she would like it.But ya I have a 29 gallon tank with a pritty big water bowl. She goes in it but she really likes wedging herself behind it and the glass :shrugs: .We just got her the other day and we are waiting 3 days untill feeding (the pet store people said that she ate a week ago) because we looked on a site that said to wait and only handle them for feeding and cleaning the tank.I had a red-tailed boa before but she got mean (maybe because we held her to early?) but thats a different story.
