Corn vs. King?

Anyone care to discuss the differences between keeping corns and kings? I saw a pic of an albino california king and really liked it. May consider getting a king. I am definitely getting a few more corns.

Well
I have corns and kings the kings still poop on me every time i get them out of the box. They one of them has also eaten one of its siblings They are skiddish but calm down after you are handeling them.

i keep a fairly even mix of kings and corns and in honesty (blasphemy to follow...) i like the kings slightly better. for me nothing compares to an amber corn but overall i'd give the edge to kings. if you want a king i'd suggest one of the mountain kings rather than an albino cal. albino cals in my experience (i've owned 4) tend toward somewhat more nasty and aggressive behaviors. my favorites for behavior and appearance are variables. (L. m. thayeri) if you plan on future breeding i would go with one of the larger kings though. many king hatchlings (esp. alterna and thayeri) can be quite alot more work to get started than most corn hatchlings. these are just some of my observations on the differences and i'd love to hear anyone else's opinions. later gators.... :) ---jim

You wouldn't think an albino cali would be aggressive because they're so pretty but I suppose looks can be deceiving. I plan on owning a king some day but for now I'll stick to loving corns.

Actually albinos of any species are the first to die in the wild. They are easer to see. And can not handle direct sunlight long term. Those are good reasons to instinctly be more defensive. I am sure there are other reasons, those are just the ones I know.

My main focus is to accummulate more corns. I would like to add about 3 or 4 more. Maybe some day I will get a king. Although I am not looking forward to being bitten.

I've come across an albino cal king while hiking...gorgeous banded kid waaaaay back in the hills. He was damn mellow too. I'm moving more towards milks myself...still love all the corns I have, just a new thing to focus on. Thankfully the milks and kings I currently have decided to move past the pissy stage.
