Correlation Between Tail Shapes and Sex of Snake??

I've been wondering lately, as my Rasputin gets bigger, whether he's a "he" or not. I read somewhere that depending on the way the tail looks, you can give a more or less accurate guess as to the sex of the snake. What have your experiences shown you? Is there any truth to this??

I'm not really comfortable with "popping" Rasputin, as I am terrified of harming him. I am also new to this area so I'm not sure if there are any herp vets around to assist me if something went wrong..

I had my snow sexed at our local mom and pops pet shop ( I'm all about supporting locally owned and operated ) They almost always have the probe kit on hand and are happy to help "solve the mystery" and it's kinda fun taking your snake on a "feild trip" to show him off. Good Luck !

They say your females with taper off suddenly below the cloca (sp?) and the males its more gradual. I looked over my female and my males and YUP! All three are shaped as I read in Kathy's book. Though a few months ago my female "looked" male for a bit. However I had had all three popped when they were little and had seen the pointies on the boys :)
