It would be convenient to use some of my flexwatt to heat a terrarium I am preparing. Is flexwatt safe to use as an undertank heater or should I pay the extra money to get a regular heating pad?
It's my understanding that an undertank heater is pretty much the same as flexwatt, except that it's encased in some sort of coating. I use flexwatt on my three tanks without a problem.
Yes, flexwatt is great. In my opinion, better than pads. I use it on all of my enclosures. So as long as you have the flexwatt attached to a thermostat, you are good to go!
Stuck to the bottom of the tank. I used some aluminum tape I had, though I would think electrical tape would work as well. Be sure to have the tank slightly elevated off whatever platform the tank is on, since the flexwatt will need a little air circulation, just like an UTH.
