Sometimes you can't tell the difference. It depends on the ratio of corn to emory. Some creams look like ordinary amels because they are never bred back to the emoryi blood. Here's a then and now set of mine

But if they look like ordinary amels are they also going to look like that when they are grown??

Yes, most likely. A responsible breeder will label Amel hatclings as Creamsicles if there is known emoryi blood in the mix. :wavey:

While many creamsicles that have a high percentage of cornsnake ancestry can look a lot like amel corns - those that are about 50% emoryi will likely show some of the orange tones even when hatchlings. Here are some baby pics compared to their photos more recently. The baby photos aren't the best quality - old camera - but you can see that they are more orange than a normal amel cornsnake.

The father of all these is this creamsicle and the are from different females. The first three are from a butter corn so some of the yellow effect is from the caramel gene.

People who breed creamsicles should represent their animals correctly as creamsicles or emoryi/corns to confirm that they have emoryi bloodlines.

Sorry not a hatchling this guy is abut 34-36" I got him in Jan.06', he was about 18-20", so I believe he is an 05'. His color has not changed, but he sure has grown, I don't power feed, just once a week. He is also a very active snake. The one with water bowl is temp water bowl while big one being washed, temp is about 4" across.

my little girl (05') is extemely orange compared to the rest, her parents were both 50% corn and 50% emoryi.

First pic is her as a baby baby (less than a month) - The rest are at about 10 months :)

I have 21 creamsicle eggs due to hatch any day that I will gladly share pictures of as soon as they crawl their little butts out of those eggs! (no, I am not feeling impatient. ;) )

Pinello

Sorry they aren't hatchlings. First up is 2 year old female striped motley cremecicle followed by her father. I got them from Frank Pinello along with a few other morphs during his sale earlier this year! Thanks again Frank:cheers:

This is my cream; she will be a yearling soon.

Unfortunately I deleted all old files of my server last week; so no hatchling pics.

Here are mine, i prefer more orange in a Creamsicle, the more it shows red, the more Guttatus genes it has..

a few

SORRY
I didn't read the post fully and failed to post hatchling pics
Just say the word and I will delete this post if you feel it is off topic to your request.

here are a few creams
this is Arwen my first creamsicle and the one in this group that truly fits the original "creamsicle" name
9600arwen28-med.jpg

This is Katie, I will be using her towards my reverse okeetee/cream project.
She is showing decent white borders hopefully to be enhanced in her young.
9600katie7-med.jpg

This is Yoda, Katie's mother. Katie's white borders are bigger then Yoda's and hopefully this will be a trend with katie's offspring.
9600yoda81-med.jpg

this is Ziggy, a nice little male cream with a partial zigzag pattern
9600ziggy6-med.jpg

This is Strider a male "frosted" creamsicle. I was told there is no grey rat in this guy, only emoryi, and I have absolutely no reason to doubt the breeder.
