This is Alexandria: the snow, and Ophion: the Lavender Anery, cuddling!

Post some pictures of your snakes all cuddling up!
It's so cute to look at them!

nice snakes...
If you want to keep them looking nice I'd recommend
getting a second viv and seperate them!!
Cohabing is a BIG no-no!!
use the search and see MANY reasons to seperate them!!!

I hope you enjoy the hobby

I agree. Gorgeous snakes, and cute picture, but you don't want to lose one of 'em like I lost one of mine. Cannibalism sucks.

No cuddling pictures from me. Believe us your snakes are not in love will not suffer seperation anxiety and a likely in the same spot because that is the ideal temp for both. Mine don't even cuddle before during or after breeding, they hook up, that's it.
It is not the cannabalism, which is the biggest issue, stress, un-wanted breeding, inability to know which one is sick... The list goes on.

I agree. I have all my snakes seperated. I know it cost more money for more vivs, but it's worth it. It also takes up more space, but oh well. Cohabbing not good.

What about tank dividers? If you had two babies in one bigger tank separated by blacked out glass, so they couldn't see or get to each other, would that be okay? That way when they get bigger you only have to buy one more big tank. It's just a random thought I had ... it works for the notorious Chinese fighting fish. :shrugs:

I wouldn't put bettas together in a tank without a divider no matter how big the tank was or how grown up the fish are--not a pretty picture. I think it would work with snakes though, but honestly vivs can be done pretty inexpensively.

I have a divided 55 gal., done with a piece of plexiglass. The heat pad is is under the middle. I've divided a bigger tank a couple times. The only difficult area is the top you have to make sure the snake can't crawl over the divider.

ah, how do you put them in there?
Did you use some kind of glass seal?
They both are in 40 Gal,
Sorry if it's huge, I couldn't afford another viv or terr.
I had this 40 Gal since my bearded dragon, but she passed away few
months ago, and I couldn't have empty tank being here,
it just hurts.
So I had been thinkin bout dividing the cage,
I was wondering how much would everything cost, and
how do it work.

You can get plexiglass from your local Lowes or Home Depot (they'll even cut it for you if you ask) and you can get Aquarium Sealant at PetCo/PetSmart...I did find Aquarium Sealant at my Home Depot in the paint section of all places.

Yeah I know, the fish would kill each other... I was saying that a tank that IS divided works for them, so why not snakes?

and like susan said, the trickiest part would be to make sure that they won't be able to climb over the divider. You probably have to get a custom piece cut to a specific size for it to work properly...
