Curious breeding/baby question

SilverDove

Bubba Boo
Hi, Hope no one thinks me odd but I just have a few questions bout breeding. I'm not planning on it as I have a 5 year old and a just bought brand new tiny baby. I don't know their sex anyway.

Anyway's, I have been reading a lot. I have many books on corn snakes and I've been to many breeders sites.

I was just wondering how in demand are corn snakes?
How are you able to place ALL them babies?
What do you do if you are unable to place all the babies?

Sorry if it seams like a rude questions but I always thought it's better to research your location or to know first that you will have a constant demand for the lives you create.
Again hope I don't sound to nosey or rude? Just some post I've read say they have had like 1000 babies born this year and the numbers increase. Hehe..
I love my buds but Wow I think I would drown in all those little spaghetti's with eyeballs "What I call pips"

How do you all do it? :shrugs:

Thanks for your info
Amby

It really all depends on what you're producing. The people that are popping out thousands of babies a year usually have some higher end morphs, or are a very well known breeder. Their stuff sells out no matter if it's $15 or $1500. For the newer breeders, with the more "basic" morphs, wholesaling is the most common way to get rid of unwanted babies.

oh ok :) so that means Bubba :eek1: could have been from someone here and they don't know it hehe  that would be sooo funny.

So in other words the best advice t anyone is to be sure you can find proper homes even before you mate the pair. I would be nervous to find homes for 15+ babies let alone 1000's

and what your mean by wholesaling is something like petco where I got my two?

There's a lot of people here that won't go near Petco and Petsmart with a 9 and a half mile long pole. Most will go to a mom & pop reptile store, or something that's not really a chain.
