OK Guys,

I am now finishing up day 60 on my first clutch of Rat Snake eggs... No slitting, no dimpling, no hatching! What is going on?

What's your temps? "Lower" temps can cause a longer incubation period. Plus, eggs don't read text books!

I hear ya! I have two Corn clutches at 60 days today also.. 33 eggs, no slits ect.ect. but boy they look just as perfect as the did 60 days ago! lol!! I say it will happen Saturday when I am at the Hamburg Reptile Expo. My wife says day 70 it will be!

I had a few clutches go into 80 plus days last year.. Be patient..

Regards.. Tim of T and J

I am going to a residency week for my Doctoral program beginning next Saturday. I will be gone for about 5 days with no one here to take care of them if they hatch. Any suggestions? I was thinking that if they slit before then, I can transfer them to tupperwares with water and they should be fine. If they do not slit open, then I think I am a bit sc#$wed.

Do you have a friend that could come swing by and check on them?

Yes. I guess I have to set it up. I am still hoping they come sooner. This is my first clutch, so I was kind of excited to be there.
