Day vs Night Vivarium Temps

Quick question, is it okay to have lower temps at night vs during the day?

I ask because with my current setup(UTH with rheostat) the temps fluctuate from day to night. The reason is because I keep my AC running at 72 degrees at night and 80 during the day when I'm gone.

Currently the temps look like this :

Day time :

Cold Side : 74
Hot Side : 86

Night time : Cold : 70 Hot : 78

Is the night time temp too cold on the hot side currently?

I turn my heat lamp off at night and my snake seems fine, If you have the AC on at night I think you should check the first couple of days like in the middle of the night. Otherwise it should stay the same temp exept for heating which of corse i reccommend the same.

I have read many times that, for Colubrids, it is actually good for them to have a temp drop at night - just as they experience in the wild.

Just wanted to throw that in...
