I hope you can help me. It's now happened that I've lost a second snake in a short period of time.

Symptoms:

-A little more flacid/slower in the last month of life,
-Didn't eat at all in the last month,
-Sunken in at the cloaca,
-Held its mouth a little open and crawled around,

NB* -The snake drank normally and passed urates as per normal.

(The last little bit there I think means that 'it moved all parts of its body normally'.)

I have just one big question...

WHAT DO YOU THINK IT COULD BE?
Or could it be age? the snake was 7 years old, or more.

Hi Jenny, I know we've already talked in PM's but I'd like to say I'm very sorry again for your loss.

I'm very sorry for your loss but have no idea as to what could be causing it. If you have other snakes I might take fecals into the vet as a preventative measure or if you see any others acting like that bring them in. Other than that I'm not sure...again I'm so very sorry.

I'd say it's unlikely to be age. 7 years isn't that old for a Corn as they can easily live to be 15 in captivity. I think you're probably looking at some sort of problem like disease, parasite or poisoning.

I'm so sorry for your losses and I hope you manage to figure it out.
