deformed lavender babies

Did someone of you allready had this?
I got about 20 eggs from a lavender x lavender breeding, and all animals came out with deformed backs.
Its not about the incubator, as other clutches hatch perfectly.
Some gene defects?

Do a search for posts on kinked backs. You will find many.

Nobody knows for sure what causes these problems. I've heard suggestions that the temperature was too high, the incubation medium was too dry or too wet, genes, etc. Another possibility is a nutritional deficiency. But so far there is plenty of speculation and little proof. :(

It's possible that the two animals you bred are a bad combination. Sometimes it's just that way. Both parents carry a recessive gene that when combined, causes problems. I wouldn't pair those two again.
