Did I slit right?

Well the other day I went to a craft store, Picked up some craft scissor's for slitting, And tried em out, They were sharp enough. And I know I got the V pattern right. But I didn't know how deep to cut. So I just cut through the skin and made sure I could see the insides of the mouse in each cut.. Does it need to be deeper?

Nope, it doesn't need to be deeper.

It doesn't even need to be in a "V", or four cuts. ;) I use an Exacto knife, and slit lengthwise, down the spine.

The idea is to just break through the skin, as it's the most difficult organ to digest. Quicker access to the more easily digestible organs means a faster digestion process, less energy spent by the snake on digestion, and therefore, a faster growth rate.

Ok, Thanks much. :)

yes, as was just said, the vertical line works the same as v cuts. but with my experience the v shaped cuts cause less blood loss :)

there have been controlled studies concluding that cutting the snakes food leads to a much greater growth rate. i think it was something like 20% faster growth in one of the "best" cutting methods. im sure someone on the forums can give you the link to the thread, ive lost it.

when i saw the data, before i started, i thought it was a bit fishy but as soon as i started all my corns have been growing much faster. especially my early 05 girl i hope to get breeding next season *crosses fingers*
