Diffused?

Yvette

I am Yvette.
Is a diffused corn snake a normal het bloodred?
I never understood what diffused was and someone said it's normal het bloodred.

Diffused is a pattern morph (diffused side pattern, reduced saddle borders, etc...)

Bloodred is a selectively bred variant of the diffused pattern morph, in order to create snakes which have that deep red color and the diffused pattern.

However, most people use the term "diffused" and "bloodred" interchangeably. So a lavender diffused many call a lavender bloodred. A hypo diffused many call a hypo bloodred. Even a regular diffused without the deep red color is often refered to as "bloodred". I personally like the term diffused better, because I think "bloodred" can be misleading when not referring to a true bloodred corn...however that is how many people use the term bloodred, and I use it that way myself as well so I can't complain too much :)

So in general, when speaking of bloodred you are speaking of the diffused trait.
