Hello. I just got my second corn snake on Saturday. We put him in a 10 gallon tank that we had in hand right away. We have since gotten a 20 gallon tank and he is about 2 years old so a lil bigger. My question is, should I leave him in the tank he's in now and let him adjust for a few days and then change his enclosure or move him to the other enclosure now and let him settle in for a few days. Which do you think will cause him less stress? Thanks!

Honestly I am not sure what would be best for him!
I think if he was mine I would handle him just for a minute or 2 and see if he is nervous by nature, or a calm guy and go with what my gut tells me.

I would definately give him time to settle in, whichever cage you use, but not be as anxious about it as I would be if he were a baby. 2 year olds are alot less fragile. Good luck with him!

Unfortunately, I think this is one of those things that you are going to have to go with your gut. I would imagine that at 2 is should be fine to go ahead and move to a bigger house. I would say if we seem jumpy and nervous then go ahead and wait bit, but if we seem fine otherwise then I would go ahead and move. Maybe get the new tank all ready that way you can quickly move the snake and his water dish and hides with out much handling.

Ok. I changed him to the bigger tank and he seems fine. I held him for a minute and he was pretty calm...probably because I was warm lol. He explored for a bit then settled in to his hide. How long do you think I should wait to feed him? I was told he ate about a week ago.

I would give him time to get use to his new home I say give it a week and then try and feed and make sure you wait 48 t 72 hours before you handle him again. ;)
