Do corn snakes inject there prey with venom or do they constrict their prey?
this would also help me in my decision.
Oh, and I've been reading stories here about people getting bit.
How often do corns bite people?

Corn snakes are constrictors as are milk snakes. Neither one has venom!
Corn snake bites are uncommon as a rule. Are you sure "uwntasnake" :shrugs:

At least s/he's doing research and asking questions. That's what this site and its members are here for.

Yet, I am reminded of a quote by our 16th president Abe Lincoln: "Tis better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.":laugh01:

Just remember that it is a commitment-like any other pet. They can live up to 20+ years and will rely on you to take care of them for that time. They are "cool" but also a responsibility.
In many ways they are much better than a dog or cat-don't poop on your rug(most of the time), don't need to go out at 2 am, don't need a pet sitter if you go out of town for the weekend, don't scratch your furniture, and only eat like once a week. But you do want to continue your research to make sure it is the right pet for you.;)
