After digesting a meal, how long would you expect it to be before they are hungry again. Our 2 1/2 yr old is taking large adult mice. She has fed on average every 7 days. Recently she has refused a meal and gone two weeks then eaten happily. (Done this twice lately) There was a shed involved last time, she was going into blue, but this has not bothered her before. I am not worried about her as she seems fine. Just wondering if they regulate their feeding in any way, or would you expect her to pounce on anything she can get her jaws around? :)

Snakes are opportunist eaters. They will pounce on anything if giving the chance. Just stay on track with your feeding and your be fine for now but at one point you could switch feeding to every ten day.

Good Luck

My snake just went through the same thing. He is about 3 feet long and is eatting rat pups, but just turned down a meal, so i am going to wait till next feeding day and try again. He looks fine so I am sure it isnt really bothering him. But it is also mating season and i heard that some snakes will go off food during this time. I am also unsure what sex my snake is. I like to think he is a male, but thats just what I would like him to be.

Thanks Lenny, probably will take her onto ten day feeding. The last couple of mice were quite a lot bigger than the previous ones and she did take considerably longer to get them down. Probably to lazy to go through that once a week!!! :eek1:
Hope your snake turns out to male stcktnkid if that's what you want it to be! It is really difficult to tell when to panic if they don't eat isn't it. She has refused a couple of times now. I used to have sleepless nights if she did anything different, but now I pretty much accept that she knows what she needs more than I do!!! (mind you I read more books on the subject than she does!!!!!) :crazy02:
