Does my Snow have anything else going on?

These are not the best photos because I just don't have the right camera or ability but you can see her pinky/peachy colors a bit. They don't truly show her bright pretty colors. At first I thought maybe hypo but now I have heard some people say the hypo gene isn't even responsable for these types of snakes (what I thought were Coral Snows) She is only a year old so maybe the pink will dissapear. Any thoughts?

100 views but not one reply. Is it because people think I'm asking a stupid question or do people not have an opinion?

I've seen a few "normal" snows with peaches and oranges on them, so I wouldn't say that's a sign of something extra. I am far from an expert on the morph, though.

She was sold to me as het Lava. I'm wondering if maybe she is a Lava Snow instead of just het Lava. They are hard to tell apart as babies and I can't find a picture of an Adult Snowmel (Lava Snow) anywhere : ( She probably is just a regular Snow, there is so much variation in them as there is with most morphs.

She could be- I don't have the trained eye for that morph. But I think the only way you can say that she's homo lava is though breeding trials. Very pretty animal though.

Can I ask if she was maybe sold to you as het Lav? That is commonly used as a short way of saying Lavender, I only ask this because at this point there are very few Lava's in Canada, not because I'm trying to be rude.

He was sold to me by a breeder that I believe you know, but he picked her up at a reptile show. He was told het Lava not Lav. I sure hope she is.

Bad pics to even get a clue, with a basic point and shoot cam getting a pic in natural lighting wins handsdown every time.. And I'd want to know who he picked it up from, parentage, lines etc if I have a target morph and I'm buying het snakes. Like Ryan and Terri I'm not trying to be rude, but guessing sucks. Lava lines are known for their nice red coloration, it'd be a safe bet to assume it could be seen in Lava line corns. Hypo and it's relationship or lack thereof to "Coral" snows has been debated here and elsewhere online :).

I would have liked more info as well, even tho the guy I got her from is reputable. He didn't know the person he got her from so who knows. I was only looking for a normal Snow anyway, so anything else would be bonus. I would have bought from a more reputable breeder but none of them had what I wanted when I wanted it. She is very pretty and I like her just as a pet anyways. Sorry about the pics. I've tried lots and I can never get a good one. I need lessons and a new camera

I am sorry I would have responded sooner but I didn't see this thread before. I actually have a snow that looked just like your snows at that age. Anyway I have test bred her to many different different boys with various genes to see if there was anything more to her but she has proven to be "just a snow". So like everyone has said there is just no way to tell 100% without breeding trials. Although like Chris said I would like to see better pics including an eye pic.

Thanks, thats good to know. I was quite curious if a regular adult Snow could have pinks in it. I will try harder with the pics and thanks for the flower tip I had no idea what it was untill you said flower.

My snow looks pretty much just like yours. While I don't know her past I'm pretty sure she is just a snow.

I'll have to get a picture of her. Each time she sheds more and more peach/pink comes in.

This may be completely off topic, BUT I too have a Snow corn and when i got her she was a light white with a deep pink. I got her from LLLReptile.com along with my Black corn(Anery), anyway she has been showing signs of gaining some peach or yellowish color along her botom jaw and lower body. It has slowly started to spread to her back in between the saddles. Though when I bought her I was told she was a normal Snow by the salesperson from LLLReptile.com. Is that normal for the Snow Corns?

The amount of variation I've seen in just the "normal" snow is quite large. We have just started discovering genes that control the degree of coloration (red factor, red coat, yellow factor), add to that all the unknown genes that affect color, and all the variations of "normal" snows very well could be caused by something "extra", but saying exactly what it is at this stage is impossible.
