Does this look like it'd be a good substrate?

The price sure is right, when compared to the Zoo Med coconut fiber...

I would soak it in my RO water for a day, then ring it out real good (to avoid scale rot or possible mold), so that it barely holds shape as I let go.

What do you think?

I've been trying out the aspen lately, but it just seems to weird, like I can tell the snake preferred the Zoo Med coconut fiber, but they don't appear to sell it in bulk, at a good price.

IDK but I had the same thought about trying it.
My son owns a hydroponics store and I saw that in it and wondered if it could be used for my frogs ? I am happy with aspen for my snakes but I do use coconut fiber for my sunbeams.
