I've had my cornsnake in reptibark since I got home in January...I just recently (10mins ago) changed him to aspen because it will be easier to see soiled areas and such..... But I dont think Torque is enjoying it much. I put him in after cleaning and putting his hides back in, he crawled on the aspen for about 10seconds and then went right up on top of a hide (he almost never does that), and since then he has gone from one hide to another with touching as little aspen as possible....

Will he get used to the new aspen? It's pretty funny watching him, its like he's a little kid playing 'lava' ...(where the ground is lava and you cant touch it)

Yes, he will get used to it. Probabaly doesn't recognize his home and feels somewhat cautious, it will pass

Been a couple hours, still hasent gotten off his hide...oh well, I'm giving him tonight to get used to it, and feeding him tomorrow.

Aspen

I switched from Kaytee to another brand of Aspen and my snakes did not like it. I am not sure they would have gotten used to it... They stayed on their hides as well. The other brand was coarser chipped and looked like it would be rough. Gave that to a neighbor who had rabbits or hamsters and switched back to Kaytee. Snakes are happy....

Well he was on top of his hide all night, til at least 3am when I left for work....when I got home he was in a corner of the viv kind of squished between a hide and the side of the viv. I'm thinking the sun forced him to do that...hoping he will just cowboy up and just get off his stupid hides!!!

Oh no, I dont..... He is on the floor away from the window, just meant the room lit up with sunrise and he was forced to get off the top of the hide to sleep. :)
