Well a while ago I bought a female from an pet shop here close to my house. She was in a viv with about 6 other males. I probed so I'm sure. She was the only female. I have her now 5weeks, she stared looking gravid 3weeks ago and she shed about 2weeks ago and still no eggs. And she refuses food. And she looks like she is going to shed again. Going into blue again.

Should I worry? Should I wait for 2weeks after the next shed?

When I pick her up I can see the eggs.(2weeks ago) so I let her be, alone in her lay box.
Will she shed again before laying?

Any advise will help me!!
(All the best for the festive season!)

Hi,
I think a lot of folks here just expected another member to answer plus it is the holidays :santa:

Yes there is a pre lay shed and she should lay shortly after. Sounds normal so far.

Good luck with her and all the best to you :)

I would avoid handling her at all as well. Once our girls have their pre-lay shed I check them only once per day, do quick water changes and leave them be. Some females will stress and hold onto those eggs if they are feeling insecure, that can cause issues.

As far as the shedding it sounds right, some females will wait until right before they have their post lay shed, especially if she is feeling bothered, it will take longer.

I know it is exciting and can definitely make you nervous to want to make sure she is ok but it is definitely best for her to be left alone during this time.
