Double checking...

I've been told Soma here is a creamsicle. I wanted to double check with you guys to see what you think.

if you need a better quality image let me know :shrugs:

Nope, I would say Soma there is an Amelanistic and possibly a Reverse Okeetee if s/he keeps those big white borders!

The name creamsicle implies that the snake has emoryi (Great Plains Rat Snake) heritage. This cannot be verified by just looking at the snake.

Your snake is visually amelanistic. Creamsicle is the amelanistic morph of the emory rat snake and corn snake interbreeding. While the difference between a first generation (50% corn, 50% emory) and a regular amel is usually easy to see, snakes with less emory blood (due to creamsicles being bred back to pure corns) are often indistinguishable from those with none.

Are there any specific behavioral traits I should look out for? Or is that also completely unreliable? If I were to take the baby to a breeder, would they be able to tell without lets say... genetics testing etc...
if not, then I guess Soma will remain creamsicle(?)/Reverse Okeetee(?) :shrugs:

I questioned them at the time, I thought it looked more like a RO but they -assured- me it was just a creamsicle. They never straight out mentioned the rat being mixed in though.

You have to take them at their word. What you have is a pretty little creamsicle. :grin01:
