Lurking around the corner
I saw my corn drink last nite! i heard that its rare to see them drink b/c they are nocturnal. i was handling him, and when i put him back in the viv he went straight to the water dish and took a nice long drink. i was pretty excited to witness it, since it's rare
 
I have seen my corns drink numerous times, most will drink out of my hand if their thirsty. But I remember when my first corn drank in front of me, I was captivated. I'm sure you will witness it alot more in the future. Whats even better is when you catch them shedding, if they notice you they tend to stop, I caught one of mine in the act last night but once she saw me she went into her hide and didnt finish the job untill I turned off the light and made her think I was gone. I'm waitin for my second female to lay her eggs in the next few days, I would love to see that as I witnessed a garter snake of mine give birth to live young a few years ago and it was fantastic, I think there were about 10 people watchin by the end of it and it didnt seem to worry her at all.
Hope you get to see a lot more over the years.Each is more exciting than the last.

I love watching them drink, well I love to watch them period. I think my husband was getting jealous last night!
 
I agree...they are great to watch ANY time! When I put my snakes back into thier containers, I usually hold their heads above their water bowl...60% of the time they will go for it and drink. Let me tell you, that is a test of nerves...trying to hold them still while they drink. My hands are always shaking.

yeah, well i got my lil dude last week, so i was excited. i watched him drink last night too, 'twas cool. i can't wait for the first shed! that would be awesome to watch :)
 
My amel drinks while I hold him all the time. I love the way their "cheeks" all poof out while they slurp it up!
