As many of you know Keegan is my first snake. I must admit I haven't been this anxious since my son was a baby. I find myself glancing over at him like every five minutes. Each time I pass by his viv I pause and look at him.

He was out cruising when I looked over. I took a break from checking on him(glancing over at him) to watch a movie with my hubby. The movie is over and I check on him and I don't see him. I tip toe over and look in, still nothing. I grab my LED flashlight and look in the viv, still can't find Keegan.

I realize he's small but really there are only so many places he can hide, or so I thought. I take the books of the lid and set them down. I gently lift the lid. I sort of lean my head over into the viv and Wham. Little bugger hits my nose. I jump and said a bad word on accident. By now my hubby and son are rolling around the couch laughing uncontrollably.

With my heart racing and hands shaking, I gently lower the lid and put the books back. Thankfully he doesn't even seem phased by the encounter as he is at this moment crawling along the lid again. I do have a feeling though that my family won't let me soon forget tonight lol.

Tee hee great story :) they are amazing little escapologists, though, so you are right to keep a good eye out!!

And may you never disturb his slumber again

My opal does the same thing! I freaked out when i couldn't find him and BAM! there he is all neatly shoved up near the lid.
