eco earth in snakes mouth

rekn

New member
so i fed my vbb just now and i noticed he got so of the substrate in his mouth, looks like its on one side and hes trying to get it out. should i put him in some warm water? will it come out on its own?

how did that happen, were you feeding him on his substrate? hopefully not.
i dont know for sure if it will come out by itself, i've never had that happen before
good luck either way.

i put the pinky on his big rock, just happened to lunge a little farther than i thought. im gonna use a paper bag or tupper ware from now on

I would think if you can't do a quick wipe of it, leave him alone and let him digest his food. And don't put him in water to stress him out!

he drank water and all the substrate seems to be gone. hoping i dodged the bullet this time

Why don't you just take him out and feed him in a little feeding container? :shrugs: Then you do not have to worry about substrate impaction.

My texas rat took a bite out of the eco earth when I had him on it. I have no clue why he did it either because I never feed him anywhere near his tank. Strangely he bit where some water had spilt when I was changing it. I moved him off of that stuff.
