They're really lovely snakes.

Do Corn's always shed before the lateral Mambo??? I've seen so many photos of matings with sheds in there.
 
They can mate before they shed after brumation, (or before the first spring shed) but usually do it afterwards. Some people think that the shed skin has pheromones in it that tell the male the female is ready. So some people, including me, keep the shed skin and put it in with the mating couple to "help." It certainly doesn't hurt. So that is Zora's shed that I save and put in when I introduce the snakes.
 
w00t! Congrats on the hook up. I hope you get many lovely Miami mots and Pin Striped Mots out of those two. They are both beautiful examples.

I dont wanna hijack the thread but I wasnt sure if i should just make a thread to talk about shed skin pheromones its the first time I have heard of it I belive that its intresting topic to talk about .
 
El Wray and Zora mated for the fifth and final time tonight. I'm hoping for good fertility!!!
