EMERGENCY: Snake escaped in a house full of dogs and a cat

So I went to check on Asha's tank this morning because it's feeding day, and he was nowhere to be found. I upended all the substrate, hides etc but he was definitely not in it. His tank is in a closed off room with a space heater and the door is only ever opened when I'm going to check on him. There is a heating duct in the room but the spaces in it are about a third of an inch wide and he's a three and a half foot snake so I don't see there being any possible way he could get through there.

This room also functions as a storage room and contains multiple boxes, an old computer, two old printers, several dressers and tables. The entire room is the epitome of a snake hiding place and while I upended it as best I could, flashlight in tow, there seem to be endless possibilities where he could hide.

My roommate recommended baiting a shoebox with a mouse (especially since it's feeding day!) and cutting a tiny hole in it that he can fit through and just waiting it out... but I'm absolutely terrified that he's somewhere else in the house and the cat will get to him and I don't know what else I can do.

And and all suggestions would be HUGELY appreciated!!

I would close the room door so nothing can get in or out and do a very extensive search if you need to move things out of the room to make it easier lock the other animals in a seperate room search the items in the snake room then place them out side the door. but only after searching it very well I hope you find it I know its terrible when there gone. If your room was closed off chances are he is still in there, but don't underestimate there ability to squeeze through tight places so pull the vent look in there and close it off till after you have searched the room good and are sure he isn't in there. Good Luck

Usually they dont go very far. I would watch for weird behavior of your dogs or cats. I know a lot of members have found missing scalebabies by their cats behavior. I would go through everything very carefully. You can put out water and bottle traps. Just do a search for bottle traps. You can also use flour on the floor if you have hardwood or stone. Usually they travel along the walls.

I know just where you are coming from. Parker escaped twice this week. First time he was in the same room and last night we found him 3 rooms away from where he began. They are little explorers for sure..

I lost my snake once. I was handling him, drinking brandy and watching a movie and after a while, totally forgot about him. Next thing I know, he had vanished. I panicked and searched the entire house till 4 in the morning (with work early the next day). Eventually I found him inside the sofa I was sitting on. He somehow got inside the stuffing under the sofa.

I wish you luck in finding your snake! Its extremely stressful when you lose them, borderline traumatic and I know exactly what you're going through right now. Keep us posted. I really hope you find him.
