enclosure cleaning

Hi all, I've been a member here for many months, but I didn't get my corns till one month ago. Some of my questions might seem silly, but bear with me, please.

How often should I clean out completely and sterilize the enclosures I use with aspen bedding? I spot clean all the time, change the water every 3 days. Toss out ALL soiled box hides etc. The area is ALWAYS visually clean.

My corns are full grown- 6 yrs. old, for whatever that's worth, and they're in the 28?quart rubbermaids. What do you guys use for cleaning- bleach solution, chlorhexidine, something else? I've been using bleach to water- 1 to 9 solution, for a 15 minute soak. Is that ok?

Thanks in advance.

I clean the tank out approx every month (except spot cleans) by putting my corn into his feeding tank I then clean out the subtrate and just use normal washing up liquid with warm water to clean, then dry thoroughly using paper towels.

Hope this helps?? P.S How long are ur corns???

Personally in both my glass vivs and sterilite tubs I use the ZooMed wipe out 1. Bleech works but stinks. I also completly clean mine out every 3 to 4 weeks, depending on my schedule, removing any poop and wet aspen imediately after I find it.

^^It does. They are 4.25 ft. for the female, and she's 400 grams. The male is about 4.5 ft. Why?
