So Kiara has been eating live pinks. But I am switching to F/T since this last feeding. It's not like a pinky attacked her or anything. But I think she is a bit lacking in the instinct department. She has been eating them alive (not constricting-which I heard was normal since there is no point for the snake) but this time I just had to laugh.

She tried to constrict it for the first time. Tied herself in a knot and was squeezing her own head. Then she stopped squeezing and sat there for about 3 minutes sorta confused about why her head was hurting then untangled herself and ate the still alive pinky without holding it at all. I can hear her saying "I tried to kill it mommy but it didnt work...I'm gonna go back to just eating them without killing them"

LOL thats adoreable. She will get the hang of it eventually :p

She obviously knows a pink is no threat to her and doesn't feel the need to waste energy constricting it, but the sooner you get her switched to f/t the better :)

LOL LMAO! Wow the threads today are so funny! She is soooo cute! My little kingsnake has a similar attitude. She strikes so far ahead of her target and slithers aropund franticaly with her mouth open....then when she finds the mouse she sits and looks at it for a few moments. Woot!...she is cute! (your little snake I mean)
