Eternal curses upon the faulty freezer!

long story short, a ton of mice were in the freezer when said freezer decided to be hateful and shut off. Mice are now thawed. They are refridgerator temp, not ever room temp and are now refreezing.
I'd toss them if it was a couple but it was more like a couple hundred.
Can these be fed as long as they don't look/smell weird?
All of the human food is still totally edible, so I was hoping the snake food would be too.
grrrrrr...stupid freezer.

I would say they should be okay as long as what you consider looking/smelling weird is the same as the normal average person considers as looking/smelling weird. My husband has a completely unique point of view in this area and has thrown things out that any sane person would have gone ahead and used.

I agree. As long as nothing smells or looks weird, it will probably be okay. Food lasts a few days in the refrigerator, so why not mice?

I would risk it & refreeze them. If they look weird or smell bad when offered to the snakes, toss them. If they look & smell OK & your snakes accept them readily, I think it's probably OK. People eat lots of questionable things, so do many other mammals, I imagine snakes can & will too.

Yeah, if they can digest bone they must have some pretty tough stomach acid. I'll give it a go and if they refuse it I guess we will be making a new rodent order soon...
Thanks for the second opinions!

My better half is actually the exact opposite. He insists on consuming things that any sane person would throw out! There was that pink fuzzy ham one time... no kidding! :sidestep:

Kels88, I'm with the others on refreezing the mice.
