Evaluate New Viv Setup

Just wondering if I could get some opinions on a change I made in my snake's vivarium. For the last year I have used papertowels, but recently I wanted to make the viv more snug for my cornsnake. So today, while she was eating, I shredded up some papertowels into strips about 1 inch by 24 inch and clumped them throughout the viv. She also has a branching thing that has fake "roots" she can climb through in the middle. Initially when I put her back, she hid under some papertowels and I had to guide her back to her warm side.

I was wondering if the shredded paper towels seems safe. And also, if she would enjoy it because she could burrow more rather than it just being an annoying obstacle for her.

I think she will like it. They generally like clutter and ground cover. If she likes to burrow, you may want to switch to shredded aspen (or something similar) for her. I also like fake leafy vines from the dollar store to use a ground cover.

I did use aspen for a couple years but I switched away at my vet's recommendation who felt it was better to not introduce any risk of impaction from sniffing the air and picking up a piece of aspen (however infinitesimal the chance).

It looks messy. I wouldn't want to look at it every day. Just my opinion.
