Too Ambitious
I'm yet another newbie to the forum, like most of the others I have spent many hours of my life reading past posts, and I have to admit, the only reason I didn't join sooner was because I thought it cost money (Yeah for higher education)! I only have one question as of right now, and it's about using a Bioactive Substrate. Does anybody on this forum use one? I read about them in Philippe de Vosjoli's book The Art of Keeping Snakes. So far, the substrate is great for live plants and it maintains humidity wonderfully, but I can't seem to get the micros to grow. The substrate temp is within the recommended range and I water and stir it weekly. I guess I just want to know if anyone else has been successful with the BSS and if so, what is their "soil" composed of.
