Sticking To The Ceiling
Never did I think I'd want to use the same good rule for finding a crested gecko to find a ~100 gram corn snake: look up.
So in my closet there's a bunch of junk on the floor, and then there's a few clothes hanging up. After that, there's two selves that were built into the wall. On the bottom shelf, I have the box my PS3 came in, a ~10 inch tall T-rex toy that moves around and make sounds leaning against that, the controller for that next to it, a Jurassic Park spinosaur toy (bit bigger than the rex) standing up on it's own, and to the right of that a bunch of Gameboy Advance game boxes.
Two or three days ago I was rooting around for something at my desk (which I rarely use now because my laptop is deader than a door), and noticed the rex controller and the spinosaur on the floor. There is no way they could haven fallen, just the two of them. An earthquake would have woken me up and also knocked everything else off the shelf. So there's no way it couldn't have been my loose corn.
Last night around 3am I also heard something fall. No idea what it was or where it came from, but the rats were all dead asleep, so it wasn't them, and all other herps were accounted for.
So... point of the story: look up, no matter what you're looking for.
