Everything needed to know about tubs

Two Corns and Growing!
I've searched everywhere on here and found a few posts scattered around that answered some questions, half answered some more, and didn't answer any at all. So a little background, I have decided to move my yearling's from tanks to tubs because I want to get a new snakie and $40 dollars for a new tank(more with hides, water bowl, etc.) plus I have to buy two new tanks(Another $80) since one of them is in too big of a tank, Diabla wont thermo-regulate and the other tank has a BIG crack in one side and I don't really want to deal with that in the long run, plus I love the organized look of tubs. All in all a cost above $120 more than enough to buy new tubs, heating, hides, and a new pretty snake!:D So what all, in one place, do i need to know about switching to tubs....
1. Which size is best going from hatchlings to full blown adults.
2. What style is best, clear or opaque
3. Security(It would just be terrible if our snakes escaped)
4. What type of heating method is the best or most preferred
5. What type of hides, water bowl, etc.(Pictures would be awesome!)
6. Anything else that one needs to know switching to tubs.
It would be great if this was stickied so no one would have to search all over the place and keep on posting new posts on the subject, everything that would need to be known would be in one place!

1. Hatchlings are kept in shoe box sized containers (usually has a picture of a pair of shoes; is also a 6qt container), and most adults are kept in 32qt containers, I believe. However, with adults, you can go bigger.
2. That depends on you.
3. Obviously, buy one with a lid. If the lid doesn't close tight all around the tub, you can tape it or use office clips.
4. Heat tape is generally used, but if you regulate with a rheostat (which you really should do with plastic containers), you can use the normal reptile heating pads.
5. Same as with glass tanks.
6. I would leave the snake alone for a few days.

Thanks!:) thats a great start.. Another thing I forgot to mention, I know you can you can use either a rheostat or thermostat but what brands are recommended for people both on a budget or don't have a limit?

Budget thermostat- Alife- from Bean Farm.

Unlimited- Herpstat ND- from Spyder Robotics

I wouldn't know about that. I would figure that if you got a normal rheostat that costs 14 bucks and plugged one of those surge control things into one of the outlets to use for more than 2 heat sources. However, I have no idea if that's safe or not, so if you do it and your house explodes, don't blame me. >.>

Lol as my house is in flames DARN YOU!!! haha.... But I think I'm going to go with that Alife it's awesome cause it has three plug-ins and I'm about to get another snake so its perfect! Hmmm.. Now which morph to get now?

O I forgot to mention that I just found a 23 qt. set it up and just put Diabla in there she seems to like it so far. Dang I'm forgetful today

K thought I should give you guys an update, I just checked the tub and temperatures are optimal 70 on cool side and 84 on the warm side. Humidity is 60% which I know is high but shes about to shed so it doesn't really worry me too much. How would I bring the humidity down after the shed, I already have holes drilled around the whole lengths of the cage, Do I need to drill even more holes or just make the holes I have bigger? Thanks for the help:)

More holes... bigger holes can be dangerous if your snake can attempt to fit its head through it (as I scarily found out one morning).

Pics

Heres a pic of her setup.. Tell me what you guys think and on a good note shes finally thermoregulating!!

If you're still having trouble with the humidity, I would do more holes along the top and in the lid and maybe a smaller water bowl.
