Exo Terra Substrate Heater

I purchased a 8" by 8" 4 watt UTH for my 10 gallon terrarium. I have Repta-liner substrate (carpet like material). Is this sufficient heating for my corn or should I also by a heat lamp.

Ideas would be great.

Well, it depends on what your temperatures are. I recommend you go to Walmart and get a digital thermometer with a probe. Place the probe onto your substrate and check the temperatures. Then you will know if you have enough heating or if you need to supplement it with a light.

I use an 8"X12" for a 40 and a 55 gallon and have to use a rheostat because alone it can get up over 100 degrees. I'd bet you definately need a rheostat to regulate the heat or you'll be slow cooking your pets.
