Hello all!

I just got my little boy Plissken around this time last month from South Mountain Reptiles. He was hatched in August of last year.

Anyway, he has been very even-tempered (if a little frightened), and has eaten like a horse since we got him. I've had him out of the cage for a few minutes a day and he has never been aggressive or struck at me.

About a week ago, though, he started getting very agitated when I'd pick him up. Then, a few days ago, he struck at my hand when I put it in his tank.

My first thought was that he was about to shed. I looked into his hide with a flashlight and his eyes do have a bluish film on top of them, but only in very direct light. The rest of him looks the same as it always does.

He was supposed to eat yesterday but I can't get close enough to him to put him into his eating bucket!

Like I said, it's been about a week. Is this a normal amount of time for a shed to take place? He won't come out of his hide and I'm worried about him!

Thanks so much for listening to my newb questions! I bow before the collective knowledge of the CornSnakes forum!

Don't worry, sounds like normal behavior. They'll go blue, then clear, then shed a few days after that, could even take a few weeks. Don't worry if he doesn't eat. Mine never eats until he's done shedding. He's in the blue right now and a bit moody.
