EXTREMElY active snake

So... I brought Jadis home last wednesday, and since then she has not stopped moving! She burrows under the aspen for about... 10 minutes at a time about twice a day or so and the rest of the teime she is cruising like mad. I fed her a f/t adult mouse on Saturdya, but on Sunday there was no more feeding lump and like I said, she's bneen non-stop. Is she still hungry and just hunting, or do some of you just have really really reallyactive corns? The other two pretty much hide all the time, sometimes cruising just as it gets dark.

Maybe she is just figuring out her new surroundings and acclimating to her new home. My new snakes, no matter their genus etc. "cruise" a lot at first. But lets not rule out other possibilities. Is he quarantined from your other snakes? Where and from who did you acquire this new snake? Breeder/Pet Store? (being ignorant I found my bp is most likely captive "hatched' not captive "breed") Is it possible the snake has mites? I have learned the hard way with my BP about mites. I was so happy he was out and about and not hiding like my corns do, only to find out that the poor thing couldn't be still because of mites! My poor BP has been through A LOT, he/she hasn't eaten in 3 wks and is in the middle of a bad shed(I got the eye caps off last night). I guess what I am saying is just pay attention to your snake, if it doesn't seem right it probably isn't, use your judgement, continue to ask questions and find a reputable vet(more difficult than it should be)

have no fear, i already have a great herp vet!!! lucky me. i don't think she has mites, there is nothing moving in her cage other than her :) i got her from a guy who couldn't care for her anymore due to a new wife and baby and job and such. she is quarantined, and i make sure i wash my hands between even changing her water and the other snakes water. she isn't cruising right now, so maybe she is just settling in still. i thought stress at first too, but like i said before she ate just fine on saturday...
weird. maybe she just likes her excersize :grin01:
