Eye Problem.. Cataracts..?

Is it possible for snakes to develop cataracts..? I have a fairly old ghost corn I aquired from an old flatmate to accompany my younger corn and he has developed a very cloudy right eye. I am certain it is not a retained cap as it deffinately resembles some form of damage below the lense. It looks like the eye is in blue phase but there is a solid white dot covering the iris now. Its slowly getting worse and I don't want to think it is a more serious underlying problem. He has always had a bit of a problem striking at food and often misses. Aside from this he is fine, eating normally and is generally active although the lazier of the two. Is it unheard of for reptiles to develop this? :shrugs:
Thanks!

I have no idea honestly I am sure a vet could tell you and someone here might be able to help as well. It kinda sounds to me like he may just be going blind in that eye. How old is he do you know? He may just be an old snake but as long as he is happy and eating all sounds well.

Well he was aquired from a neglegent owner as an adult so my guess he is around the 10 year mark now. My main worry was any underlying health issues, but all seems fine appart from this. I just never heard of reptiles gaining cataracts but I guess it explains his increasing lazyness to strike his food

No, I believe not. Its been developing the past 2-3 months. It started out with a little opaque grey dot
