i've been noticing mucho questions basically the same type related to general husbandry - i'm sure that our regulars are happy to reply but i was just thinking that there are very few "big - ticket" types of husbandry items that are even argued much at all - so??? - i would highly recommend any newbies to utilize the info stickied at the top of this topic - valuable information!!!

Or the search function... but sometimes people just want to confirm in their own thread to make sure, and that's fine.

I sometimes find that it's hard to think of exactly what I'm looking for using the search function, because if I knew exactly what kind of thing I was asking about then I wouldn't be asking, if that makes sense? IE if I have symptoms of a problem and I look for them, but I can't find a problem with the exact same symptoms, I need to post a thread to make sure- like you said Pepper- that I'm following the right advice. I can't just look for the name of my issue (eg mouth rot) before I know that's the issue. I hope this is clear what I mean!
Also sometimes I look for certain things using the search function but it comes up with lots of entirely unrelated threads?? I hope the moderators read this, I was thinking about this recently but can't think of a way for them to resolve this issue with the forum so didn't suggest it as I can't really be helpful! Otherwise I think it's really good and runs smoothly.

That problem is due to vague thread titles or people posting within threads about something unrelated about that problem. IE you search for bad shed, get a thread in pictures where someone briefly mentions their snake went through a bad shed. I've found that going to advanced search and limiting the forums you search to Health/Feeding, Husbandry, or Misc is the easiest way to narrow it.

i might have been a little unclear

at the top of the husbandry section is a post with 3 pages of faq's that perfectly answer a very high percentage of the questions that are continually posted below - that's all i was really saying , was that answers are already there for the reading - make sense?????

Rob, I used to constantly link the new members with that thread in their introductions here, but it still seemed rarely utilized. Too bad, because it really does have the majority of the basics right there at their fingertips. Great post.
