corn crazy english lad
hi guys not been on here for ages but tonight my 5 foot male corn is acting weird......

about 2 months ago i put my 5 foot male in the same tank as my 3 foot male and everything was great and thay didnt mind it at all but tonight after my 5 foot male shed he has made a complete circle with himself around his little house in the tank and is racing round after his own tale really fast.
he also didnt eat today so maybe he is in season?

my other smaller corn has hidden beneath the wood chip out of the way, i can see its head but not his body, he is very still also.

have i wrongly sexed the smaller corn? mating? fighting?

i dunno but help would be great, im going to seperate them into different vivs if this is a territorial dispute or such.....

thanks

It certainly sounds as if the cohabitation is causing some stress of some type but it is of course hard for any of us on here to give you a definite answer.

Yes, Seperate them immediately then watch them both to see their behavior. Having two males together during breeding time could cause problems if one is older and feeling the "urge". He would feel threatened and competition with another male present.

MY guess is they will both be much better behaved once separated.

Best wishes

looks like their mating, thay have both calmed down to a complete halt but there genatalia are perfectly matched up and touching........

guess ive got some reading to do!

any links u recomend

the male is about 7-8 now fully grown normal and the female is a 3 year old snow, ive seperated them now and hope i dont get a clutch but if i do i will make sure i do it right......

I assume the female is the one that is 3ft long...if so..this is actually quite a bit on the small size for a 3 year old....but should still be acceptable for breeding. Chances are...you will get a clutch so you must be prepared. Kathy Love's corn snake manual has a great breeding section..if you don't have this book I would strongly recommend getting it. It would be a good start....either way..you should be prepared for the female to lay.

yeh i will get that book and get prepared, thanks for the comments

any helpfull links would be great to

cheers
