So my friend spencer is kinda stereotypical; he believes all reptile enthusiasts are weird, creepy, boring (funny, he raises fish) Steve Irwin impersonators. So, to prove him wrong, i decided to start this thread. After all, one of the best ways to show off your style is to tell people your musical interest.

I'll start: my favorites change often, but my longest lasting (and most current) favs are Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold.

i am into all music. from simon and garfunkel, neil young, dylan, all the way to hate breed, other things like marley, keller williams, and dont forget the gold ole people like toby keith. i dont judge people by their music. to me different music is for different kind of feelings. and i dont just like one thing, i like a lot of things. so i do what i want and listen to whatever. im one of those reptile keepers with tatoos, but im not a hard acting person. im always willing to help others and i get a long with everyone. no stereotype here. just a 20 year old kid with a passion for animals is all.

I agree with you, pwargcm. The way i dress indicates a more sinister person, but that is NOT the way i act. And as for music, i listen to everything too. My computer has 43 gigs of music, and everything from frank sinatra to lamb of god. Oh, and i wasn't calling anybody stereotypical, or meaning to be offensive. I was talking about a close friend who looks down on reptile enthusiasts. I was kinda just looking for what you listen to most(notice i said my faves change often)

i found no offense there. just when people just meet me and realise their first time over theres a glow when they go down to the basement or used to be a spare room. they would be like wtf is this. animals in cages and looking at them and then theyd be like i had no idea you had reptiles. id be like why. well you just dont seem the type. they said the type seems like the ones with mohawks, peircings everywhere and full sleeves. i dont have full sleeves yet, but i have no jewelry. and i dress my own style, somedays its skulls the next its khakis and t for going hiking. i guess reptiles is like a disease to have around. people just dont see it coming till its right there. i just took my parents to their first herp show this weekend and they were astounded how wrong there were to think of herpers. even though they support me. they just thought i was a bit weird i guess. haha. my mom was most impressed by the poison dart frogs and the baby turtles. and my dad was impressed i dont lie when i tell him some animals go for a few grand up. haha.

I'm a hip-hop person my self, and listen to all sorts of music old and new. I love musicians like Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and Sam Cooke as well. My favorite artist/musician of all-time, though is without question Tupac "2pac" Shakur. He's definitely my biggest inspiration in life, in general, and was one of the smartest human beings to ever live. Here's a video for a song titled "I Ain't Mad At Cha", and is a great song. It's the radio version, so there's no swears, or "mature" language. The intro is exactly a minute long, but the song itself is about 5 minutes long. Definitely a classic, and one of my personal favorites!.

My second favorite artists are Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. This video is called "Paper (Resurrection)" and is also the clean version. I actually had the opportunity to speak with the group over the phone last Wednesday and it was a dream come true. Their musically some of the most talented people, but lyrically as well. Definitely another huge influence on me, and I was so lucky to have the chance to speak with them. One member isn't in this video (Flesh-N-Bone), but the rest are!.

Probably my 2 favorites...

Linkin Park

Trent Reznor/Nine Inch Nails

I also enjoy a lot of various other music...Paramore, Metallica, Alice in Chains, The Prodigy, System of a Down, Rage Against The Machine, Offspring, Killswitch Engage, Bullet for my Valentine, Nirvana, Garbage, Dethklok, The Vincent Black Shadow, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Marilyn Manson, Primus, The Chemical Brothers, Aphex Twin, older Green Day (dookie, etc...), Soundgarden, etc...etc...

That's probably the type of stuff I listen to the most....however, I do enjoy classical music every now and again, and I love listening to 70's music, especially on long trips I try to find a 70's station...The Eagles, Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, America, Chicago, Boston, BTO, etc...

...Crikey! ;)

I LOVE linkin park, especially forgotten. As for nine inch nails, i dont listen to them much, buy i do like closer. As for your list, i like it all except for maybe nirvana, but thats just because my sister is addicted to mr. cocaine er, Cobain and whenever i mention the band she begins her worship speech. very annoying.

heres a funny little joke my brother just told me about kurt:
What has More brains than Kurt Cobain?

A: The wall behind him

i thought that was hilarious (assuming you believe he commited suicide. Maybe this isn't the best topic to get into..)

I love rock-ish type music that incorporates electronica...hence probably why LP and NIN are among my favs.

Here's a few more I like; NaS, AZ, Cormega, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Michael Jackson, TLC, Outkast, Kanye West Bob Marley, Notorious BIG, Alicia Keys (some), Jimmy Cliff, The Roots, Nice & Smooth, Spice 1, MC Eight, Slick Rick, Mariah Carey (please don't laugh), Ice Cube, Kurtis Blow, The Temptations, Kool and the Gang, Jay-Z, Keef G and a few others. The ones in bold is what I'm most exclusively limited to, though, and I have severe nostalgia when it comes to mid-90's music. Somehow it's etched in my head regardless if I like it or not.
