Do I put the snake into a separate container and then put the mice in? Or do I put the mice in first and then the snake into the container?

Or does it even matter?

It doesn't really matter which way you do it, but I put the snake in first. I put the snake in first because a few of my snakes will not eat the mouse unless they see it moving. Also if I handle the mouse after handling the snake there is little chance of me getting bit because the snake smells the mouse.

I put the mouse in, then go get the snake and the snake's water bowl, weigh the snake, put it in the container, wash the water bowl and replace it, move on to the next snake. EXCEPT I put the Florida Kings, Jake, Janine and Jewel, and Noah the Boa in their bins before handling the mice at all. The kings will bite for sure if I smell mousey, and Noah bit me once. Choco- Cali King and Inez- Nelson's Milk, couldn't care less.
