I have a 2 ft corn that is right ata year old. He has never had a problem feeding. He has been on a pinky-a-week diet for all his life until about a month ago. I started giving him 2 pinkies per meal. He has had no problem with this. I am wondering if I should move him up to a fuzzy a week? The fuzzies look huge compared to the pinkies. I know snakes can stretch but I'm afraid it will be too much. A man at Petco told me that if it is too bigthen my snake could get it stuck in his throat and die. I dont want "The Kernal" going out like that! Anyone know for sure?

If your corn is 2 ft. and a yr. old, he can definitely handle bigger prey than a pinky. In fact, I think he would enjoy a bigger prey. The fuzzys look bigger but trust me, your snake will be able to handle it. I recently feed my corn a mouse I did not think he could handle but he managed to get it down. Snake's mouths are very elastic. It will suprise you.

My snake is only about 15 inches long and I've had him 2 months (he was a hatchling when purchased) I fed him his first fuzzy last week and he is fine. It looked huge but as long as it's not more than 1.5 times his largest girth he should be able to handle it. I switched him when the pinkies didn't make much of a lump in him. Also, I wouldn't trust what the people at Petco tell you. I got my snake there too, but the employees at my store are not that educated in reptile keeping. Their snakes aren't in the greatest conditions and I had one employee tell me they did not sell pinkies and never had, even though I have bought all my mice from them. Anyway, as long as your temps. are right and humidity is fine I would say go for it. It helps to have a copy of Bill & Kathy's book "The Corn Snake Manual" too. I always refer to it.

my corn is approx 8months and is on rat pups that are a bit bigger and more mass than fuzzys.Get some fuzzys and size them up next to your corn. His prey should be 1.5 times the size of his widest part

that should say no more than 1.5 times the size of your corn and just realised i repeated what serpentina said :crazy02:
