Feeding Augie

I like to move my snakes into a separate container to feed, so I can be sure they don't get any aspen stuck in their mouth and so I can check them over.

up to you, many people bin feed.
but just as many people feed in tank.. when the collections large.

it's a personal choice, IMO, I use bins and I find that my snakes know when their in there bins!
they automatically start looking for their meal, but many people find that corns don't get really cage aggressive so in cage can work too!

hope this helps!

We feed in a small tank and our corn knows instantly when he is put in that it is feeding time. He darts all around. Easy to clean afterwards and no aspen is a bonus. I usually put a paper towel down first so if he constricts or anything oozes, it is easier to clean up.

I am a viv feeder, but dinner is served on a plastic lid so no substrate touches it. Once they latch down on the mouse they don't move until it is completely swallowed, so I have never worried about it getting aspen on it.

A ten gallon is pretty big. I still have a few adults that get fed in those square-ish CD holder Sterilites, with the latches on the sides, and the little handle.

Augie feed well in 10 gallon. He looked around till he spotted the mouse and the made a strike and got it. He did eat then went looking for more to eat. Rattled his tail at us so we let him calm down then transfer him back.

^ Be careful! I would take mine out for some exercise so she would poop... and I'd take her out just a bit too long, and 4 weeks in a row she sh*t all over me! :p
