Feeding for the first time...

Tomorrow is Xander's first feeding with me. (It'll be exactly one week since I got him). His breeder said that he's been fed 4 times, and he's about 2 months old. Will one small pinkie be enough for him? Also, should his next feeding be on Tuesday (5 days later) or Thursday (7 days later)? He's my first snake, and I want to get his feeding schedule down so he's healthy. :D

On a side note, if he's very active and out and about at night, does that mean he's becoming comfortable with his tank? I haven't handled him since he arrived, and I'm just curious.

Thanks,

Sarah

You can feed him every 5 to 7 days. That is your choice, I feed mine every 7 days because it is easy for me to remember to feed them that way. One small pinky should be enough for the next 6 months.

A single pinky will be good until that is no longer making a lump in his belly. Then you double up on pinks. Once they no longer make a lump, then onto fuzzies.

I usually do one right after the other. I just wait for mine to get the first one down and then they go straight for the second one.
