Feeding Issue

mmkay...

Ive had a hatchling charcoal cornsnake for about a week now. I have offered a entire pinky to it, and it did not eat. Then, i prceded to cut the head off and it still would not eat.

I tried two days later. Same thing. Any Ideas???

BTW: He (Or She) is about 16 inches long, and maybe 10g.

What are your cage temps, how are you thawing the pinky, and how long are you leaving the snake all alone with just the pinky? I would get a half of pinky really warm in water and put the snake and pinky in a separate container with a few small holes in for ventilation. Cover the container with a towel to make it dark, put it in a quiet room and wait an hour.

Don't worry a whole bunch, because your snake can go a little while without food. Whatever day it refused the meal, wait till your regular scheduled feeding day to try again. Offering food too often, just stresses out the snake, not to mention what it does to you.

Also, do a forum search for reluctant feeders on this site. You should be able to find a bunch of advice on what to do. First thing, is remain calm.
